The Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) Housing Welfare Center announced on the 19th that it had conducted a housing support education session for young adults preparing for independence, targeting personnel from child care facilities located in Gwangju on the 18th.
This training session was aimed at self-reliance support officers and residential instructors working at child care facilities, and provided information on various housing support systems designed to help young adults preparing for independence settle stably. Representatives from 17 child care facilities, group homes, and foster care support centers in the Gwangju area attended the session, which featured an active Q&A segment amid strong interest in the training.
The Housing Welfare Center operates on-site housing welfare education programs for young adults who are currently residing in or are about to leave child care facilities, and also provides on-site counseling. In addition, the center has secured 60 units of permanent and purchased rental housing to help ensure housing stability for young adults preparing for independence.
President Kim Seungnam stated, "It is important to provide housing for young adults preparing for independence so that they can grow into healthy members of society," and added, "We will take the lead in becoming a reliable housing safety net for young people taking their first steps into society."
