The Budget School on the Move was organized to guarantee the participation of parents and local residents in the process of formulating the educational finance budget, thereby enhancing transparency and fairness in the management of educational finances.
In particular, the program featured a special lecture by author Song Yongjin, widely known as "Songnaegwan," on the topic "Stories of Resident Participation in History Told by Songnaegwan." The event also included a participatory program focused on both education and hands-on experience, covering theoretical understanding of the budget and the actual drafting of budget proposal forms.
Superintendent Kim Jicheol stated, "We will continue to listen closely to the valuable opinions of parents and actively reflect them in Chungnam’s education, in order to strengthen trust and communication within the educational community and to create exemplary cases of democratic and efficient educational finance management."
Meanwhile, the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education has been operating the Parent Budget School since 2024, and it is being evaluated as an opportunity for parents' opinions to be actively reflected in the budget formulation process.
