On June 19, Kim Taeheum, Governor of Chungnam Province, stated, "I do not believe that the movements in various regions to request ministries and agencies they deem necessary, sparked by the issue of relocating the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, are appropriate." He added, "It is more efficient for government ministries to be concentrated in one location and to cooperate with the National Assembly."

Governor Kim made these remarks at a meeting held in the morning at a hotel in Eojindong, Sejong City, where the heads of the four local governments?Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk?gathered to discuss the new government's plan to relocate the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan.

Governor Kim pointed out, "Currently, Kang Hoonshik, a lawmaker from the Chungcheong region, has become the Chief Presidential Secretary. If the Chief Presidential Secretary simply stands by while what the Chungcheong region has (government ministries) is dispersed elsewhere, how can he engage in politics in the Chungcheong region? That would be irresponsible."

He continued, "Even the Yoon Sukyeol administration could not proceed with relocating the Korea Development Bank to Busan. This is not a matter of wavering or hesitation; we must respond and make judgments with a cool head."

Governor Kim expressed his expectations, saying, "I believe the Lee Jaemyung administration will respond wisely in a way that does not provoke regional conflict or disappoint the public."
