KTX, introduced in 2004, is Korea's first high-speed train. It began operations after technology transfer from companies such as Alstom of France. Designed as a concentrated power train, it boasts a maximum speed of 305 km/h.

KTX Sancheon, which followed KTX and began operations in 2010, is also a concentrated power high-speed train, but was both designed and manufactured entirely with domestic technology. The maximum speed of KTX Sancheon is also 305 km/h.

KTX Eum, introduced in 2021, is a high-speed train developed with distributed power, taking into account Korea's geographical features. Its advantage is that it can continue operating using the distributed power under each car, even if some cars encounter issues. This train has a maximum speed of 260 km/h.

KTX Cheongryong, which began operation last year, is a next-generation distributed power high-speed train developed entirely with domestic technology. It boasts Korea’s highest speed of 320 km/h and is currently operating on major lines such as the Gyeongbu and Honam lines.

SRT is a high-speed train operated by the state-owned company SR, which began service in 2016. SR is credited with ushering in an era of competition in Korea's high-speed rail sector and contributing to improved rail services. Starting from Suseo Station in Gangnam, Seoul, SRT operates on five lines: Gyeongbu, Honam, Gyeongjeon, Donghae, and Jeolla.

The commemorative stamps featuring these high-speed trains can be purchased at nearby main post offices or through the online post office.
