Listening to the Concerns of Union Leaders at the Site

The Social and Urban Committee of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, chaired by Ahn Hyeongju, visited four sites, including the Seo-gu Facilities Management Corporation and the Seobitmaru Complex Community Center, during the 1st regular session of the 331st meeting on June 17, 2025.

According to the Seo-gu Council on June 19, committee members first visited the Seo-gu Facilities Management Corporation, where they received a report on the progress of projects included in the first supplementary budget for 2025 and listened to the concerns of union leaders at the site.

The committee also revisited the Resource Recovery Center, which they had previously inspected last year, to review overall improvements in the working environment and safety for employees, and to encourage the center’s workers.

In addition, the committee visited Yongdu Village in Seochang-dong to address civil complaints regarding road expansion, expressed their understanding of the necessity, and urged the relevant department to take proactive administrative action. At the Seobitmaru Complex Community Center, they requested comprehensive administrative measures to secure parking facilities.

Chairperson Ahn Hyeongju stated, "The purpose of this site visit is to represent the voices of workers and residents at the actual sites and to play a smooth mediating role with the executive branch. We will continue to make efforts to ensure that various opinions and concerns from the field are actively reflected in district administration."
