Ministry of Foreign Affairs Issues 'Recommendation to Leave' for Parts of Israel

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a Level 3 travel advisory (Recommendation to Leave) for certain areas in Israel, as armed conflict between Israel and Iran continues.

On June 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, effective from 8:00 p.m., Level 3 travel advisories would be issued for areas in Israel previously under a special travel warning. The Level 3 and Level 4 (Travel Ban) advisories already in effect for some regions of Israel will remain unchanged.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "We urge Korean nationals currently staying in Iran and Israel to pay special attention to their personal safety and to leave the area as quickly as possible in accordance with guidance from our diplomatic missions. We also ask those planning to travel to these regions to cancel or postpone their trips."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that it will continue to closely monitor the situation in the Middle East and will keep implementing various measures to ensure the safety of Korean nationals.

Earlier that day, from 1:00 p.m., the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a Level 3 travel advisory for all areas of Iran. While maintaining the Level 3 advisory already in effect for certain regions of Iran, the Ministry raised the advisory for areas previously under a special travel warning (Level 2.5) to Level 3. As a result, the entire country of Iran is now under a Level 3 travel advisory.
