A female anchor from Iran's state broadcaster has emerged as a national hero in Iran after being bombed by Israel during a live broadcast. She interrupted the news she was presenting live due to Israel's airstrike. The anchor, whose emergency evacuation was broadcast in real time, resumed the broadcast immediately afterward.

On June 17, Yonhap News, citing Spain's EFE news agency and others, reported that Sahar Emami, an anchor with IRIB, has become a "symbol of resistance" in Iran.

According to IRIB broadcast footage from June 16 (local time), Sahar Emami was delivering a statement from Iran's Supreme National Security Council condemning Israel's military operation when a loud explosion was heard in the studio. The studio background turned black and part of the ceiling collapsed. Soon, gray smoke filled the room, accompanied by the sound of breaking glass and screams.

The broadcast showed her leaving her seat, and viewers could hear IRIB staff shouting "Allahu Akbar" (God is great) before the screen went dark. As a result, viewers expressed concern for the safety of Emami and the IRIB staff.

However, a few minutes later, Emami resumed the broadcast from another studio that had not been affected by the bombing, announcing that journalists had died in the original studio. IRIB also confirmed that some of its staff members had been killed.

Within Iran, Emami is receiving widespread praise for continuing the broadcast even in the midst of the urgent situation of being bombed live on air. Iranian media have lauded Emami as a "national hero" symbolizing Iran's resistance, and posts related to her have appeared online.

Arab media outlets supporting Iran have also focused on Emami's calm demeanor and confident expression, offering praise for her actions.

Meanwhile, according to Israel's Ynet News, Emami is considered one of Iran's leading news anchors. Although she majored in food engineering, she entered the media field and began her career as an anchor in 2010.
