Personnel Hearing Committee to Decide on Adoption of Progress Report at 5th Hearing on the 19th
The Namyangju City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairperson: Cho Seongdae) announced on the 17th that it held the 4th Personnel Hearing Committee on the 16th at the Standing Committee Room of the Autonomy and Administration Committee of Namyangju City Council to comprehensively assess candidate Kang Jesang, director of Namyangju City Policy Research Institute, on his job performance ability, vision, and leadership as the head of a public institution.

The personnel hearing was attended by Han Geunsu, chair of the Autonomy and Administration Committee, Jeong Hyeonmi, vice chair, as well as committee members Lee Jeongae, Park Eunkyung, Kim Donghun, and Won Juyeong. The proceedings included the candidate's oath, opening remarks, a Q&A session, and the candidate's final statement.
The committee members questioned candidate Kang based on the materials submitted in advance, focusing on his expertise and qualifications required as the director, his organizational management skills, and experience in financial operations. They particularly scrutinized his vision for the operation of the Policy Research Institute, research direction and strategies, understanding of Namyangju’s pressing issues, and awareness of current municipal affairs.
They also urged the candidate not to forget the importance of field-oriented policy planning over theoretical approaches, to propose citizen-centered policies that resonate with the public, and to conduct research that accurately analyzes the city's conditions and reflects Namyangju’s unique characteristics.
Additionally, the committee asked the candidate to analyze regulatory data by sector and to make every effort to improve overlapping regulations through new and different approaches.
Kang Jesang stated, "The council members have provided valuable insights and a variety of opinions on how the institute should be managed in the future. If I am appointed as director, I will do my best to incorporate the suggestions given today."
Han Geunsu, chair of the committee, said, "There is an old saying, 'Yunjipgweoljung,' which means to hold firmly to the middle. It signifies the importance of being fair and prudent without bias in all matters," and added, "If you are to lead the Namyangju City Policy Research Institute in the future, I hope that whenever you are faced with difficult decisions amid various interests, you will recall the spirit of Yunjipgweoljung and approach your research with an objective and balanced perspective, always prioritizing the citizens of Namyangju and the development of the city."
Meanwhile, the report on the personnel hearing for the candidate for director of the Namyangju City Policy Research Institute is scheduled to be reviewed for adoption at the 5th Personnel Hearing Committee on the 19th.
