Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province will begin phased operations of the water playground at Gaheung Antteul Park starting June 23 to help citizens enjoy a cool and safe summer.
The operation will be divided into a preliminary phase (June 23 and July 25) and a full operation phase (July 26 to August 17). During the preliminary phase, the facility will be open only on weekdays for local daycare centers and kindergartens, and advance reservations must be made through the Yeongju City website (integrated reservation service). The water playground will be closed on weekends during this period.
During the full operation phase, the facility will be open daily for children of elementary school age and younger, and sessions will be divided into two time slots per day (11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.). The city has adjusted the operating hours, taking into account the midday heat, to ensure that children can enjoy water play safely even during hot weather.
Yeongju City is thoroughly preparing for overall safety management, including water quality control, facility inspections, and the deployment of safety personnel. The city has also established usage guidelines to create a pleasant environment, including a ban on bringing in food (bottled water is allowed), a ban on pets, a requirement to wear either go barefoot or wear aqua shoes, and mandatory accompaniment by a guardian for infants.
The general playground near the water playground will be temporarily closed during the operation period for safety reasons.
An official from Yeongju City stated, "The Gaheung Antteul Park Water Playground is not just an ordinary playground, but a special space where families can come together and create precious summer memories. We will do our utmost to ensure that citizens can use the facility safely, so we ask for your active use and cooperation."
