Veteran Jinho Choi, 41, Jumps from 710th to 542nd in World Rankings

In the men's weekly world golf rankings announced on June 15 (local time), he earned 0.23 points and made a remarkable leap of 168 spots from 710th last week. He accumulated these points by finishing third at the Hana Bank Invitational (total prize money: 1.3 billion won), a tournament jointly hosted by the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour and the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), which concluded the previous day at The Heaven Country Club West·South Course (par 72, 7,293 yards) in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province. This is the highest ranking among Korean players.


Scottie Scheffler (USA), Rory McIlroy (Ireland), and Xander Schauffele (USA) maintained their positions in the top three. Major tournament US Open champion J.J. Spaun (USA) jumped from 25th to 8th place last week, marking his first entry into the top 10. Among Korean players, Im Sungjae is ranked 25th, An Byeonghun is 49th, Kim Joo-hyung is 52nd, and Kim Siwoo is 61st. Hana Bank Invitational champion Shaun Norris (South Africa) climbed from 112th to 93rd place.
