On the 16th, Yoon's legal team announced that they plan to submit to the police on the 17th a written opinion stating that a police summons investigation is unnecessary, along with a statement written by former President Yoon himself regarding the charges.
However, it is known that they will also convey their willingness to cooperate with a 'compromise' option, such as an in-person investigation at a third location or a written investigation.
It has been reported that the police are considering measures to secure Yoon's custody by force if he fails to respond to the third request to appear. Typically, investigative agencies review compulsory measures such as applying for an arrest warrant if a person fails to appear without justifiable reason after about three requests.
Former President Yoon has been booked on charges of ordering the Presidential Security Service to prevent his own arrest (obstruction of special official duties) and ordering the deletion of information related to secure phones (incitement to abuse of authority under the Presidential Security Service Act).
