On June 16, Research Alarm analyzed that Wemade is expected to be recognized as a pioneer in stablecoins.
Choi Sunghwan, a researcher at Research Alarm, stated, "The government is presenting 'the development of won-based stablecoins' as a key policy task as part of its digitalization strategy," and added, "There is a clear shift away from the previous regulatory-focused approach to the blockchain industry, moving toward guiding a private-sector-led digital asset ecosystem within the institutional framework."
He continued, "The Bank of Korea is already expanding its pilot program for central bank digital currency (CBDC)," and "The Financial Services Commission is working to establish institutional definitions and usage guidelines for won-based stablecoins."
Choi analyzed, "This will be an advantageous opportunity for companies like Wemade that have already issued and are operating stablecoins based on real-world usage," and added, "Wemix is operated on its own mainnet, which is partially aligned with the government's policy direction for stablecoin institutionalization and its technical structure."
He emphasized, "If institutional measures for the use of private stablecoins become more concrete, there is a high possibility that Wemade will be recognized as a proven platform."
He added, "Wemade turned the delisting of Wemix Coin from domestic exchanges into an opportunity to transition to a decentralized ecosystem," and introduced, "Wemade has secured mainnet leadership and is reorganizing the digital currency ecosystem." He said, "The launch of its own blockchain network 'WEMIX 3.0' and the stablecoin 'WEMIX$' is a platform model with a structure similar to Circle's USDC in the United States," and explained, "It is designed as a payment-type asset for real-world use, considering not only blockchain users but also connections to the real economy."
