Increase in Vehicle Registrations and Decrease in Annual Payments
Payment Deadline: Until June 30

Uiseong County in Gyeongbuk has imposed a total of 2,6409 automobile tax bills for the first installment of this year, amounting to 2,496 million KRW.

This figure represents an increase of approximately 38 million KRW (1.5%) compared to the same period last year.

According to the county, the main reasons for this increase in automobile tax revenue are the rise in the number of registered vehicles and a reduction in the discount rate for annual advance payment of automobile taxes, which led to a decrease in annual payment applications. The automobile tax is imposed on vehicle owners as of June 1 each year, and the deadline for payment of the first installment is June 30, 2025.

If payment is not made within the deadline, an additional penalty of 3% will be charged, so attention is required.

Payments can be made conveniently not only through bankbooks and credit cards at any CD/ATM nationwide, but also via virtual accounts, local tax income account transfers, the local tax portal 'WETAX', and the automated response system.

In addition, if you apply for electronic notification and automatic transfer, you can receive a tax deduction benefit of up to 500 KRW per case.

Kim Jusu, the mayor of Uiseong County, stated, "The automobile tax is an important source of revenue for the county's finances, and it is valuable funding used for expanding local infrastructure and implementing welfare policies. I urge all residents to actively participate by paying within the deadline, and the county will continue to expand various services to improve taxpayer convenience."
