Jaegyeong Yecheon County Residents' Association Successfully Holds 2025 County Residents' Day and Chairman Inauguration Ceremony

Yoon Dongchun Inaugurated as 36th Chairman
Pledges Unity Among Yecheon Natives and Commitment to Hometown Development

The Jaegyeong Yecheon County Residents' Association announced that it held the '2025 Jaegyeong Yecheon County Residents' Day and Chairman Inauguration and Retirement Ceremony' at the Seongnae Yusuji Soccer Field in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 14th, and that Executive Vice Chairman Yoon Dongchun officially took office as the 36th chairman.

The event was attended by more than 1,000 people, including Kim Hakdong, Yecheon County Governor, key officials from major organizations in Yecheon County, heads of township residents' associations, and Yecheon natives living in Seoul and the metropolitan area, who gathered to share their affection for their hometown.


The Jaegyeong Yecheon County Residents' Association is a leading organization that fosters communication and solidarity among Yecheon natives living in Seoul. This event served as a meaningful occasion to strengthen bonds among those who have left their hometown, and to reaffirm their commitment to cooperation and support for the development of Yecheon.


In his inaugural address, new Chairman Yoon Dongchun stated, "I will make the Jaegyeong Yecheon County Residents' Association, which serves as a strong foundation, into a more vibrant and solid community," and added, "I will dedicate myself to the development of my hometown Yecheon and to communication among those who have moved away."


During the event, Chairman Yoon was appointed as honorary county governor. Park Unseon, chairman of the Yongmun Township Residents' Association, and Kwon Honggu, chairman of the Jibo Township Residents' Association, were appointed as honorary township heads. Awards were also presented to distinguished Yecheon natives, and plaques of appreciation were given to contributors. Athletic events and networking activities received enthusiastic responses from participants, creating an atmosphere of unity.


In his congratulatory speech, Kim Hakdong, Yecheon County Governor, expressed his deep gratitude to the Jaegyeong Yecheon County Residents' Association for always thinking of and supporting their hometown despite being far away. He emphasized, "As Yecheon is entering a period of leap and transformation, the wisdom and strength of those who have left will be an important driving force for the development of our hometown."


Meanwhile, the Jaegyeong Yecheon County Residents' Association continues to strengthen ties with Yecheon through various activities, including campaigns to participate in the Hometown Love Donation Program, building a network of Yecheon natives, and supporting local development projects. The association plans to further strengthen the community's capabilities centered on those who have moved away and to become a model for private cooperation that promotes mutual growth with their hometown.
