Three-Stage Inspections: Before Opening, During Operation, and After Closing
On June 12, South Chungcheong Province announced that it will conduct water quality inspections at 27 beaches along the west coast starting this month, ahead of the summer opening season.
The Provincial Institute of Health and Environment will check water quality in three stages: before opening, during operation, and after closing.
The inspections will focus on detecting Escherichia coli and enterococci, which can cause waterborne diseases.
If water quality standards are exceeded, the province will analyze the causes and conduct additional investigations. The inspection results will be provided to the relevant cities and counties.
Jung Geumhee, Director of the South Chungcheong Institute of Health and Environment, stated, "These measures are intended to provide a safe and pleasant environment for residents and tourists," adding, "We will create beaches that people can visit with confidence through thorough water quality inspections."
