This represents an increase of approximately 400 million won (3%) compared to the same period last year. The main reason for this increase is the addition of about 8,000 registered vehicles.

The automobile tax was levied on owners of vehicles registered in Paju City as of June 1, 2025, according to the automobile registration records. Vehicles for which the annual tax was already paid in January and March of this year are excluded from this assessment.

The payment deadline is June 30. If payment is not made within the deadline, a 3% late payment penalty will be added. In case of delinquency, penalties such as license plate seizure may be imposed, so taxpayers should take caution.

The automobile tax can be paid through any ATM at financial institutions nationwide, the Wetax website (www.wetax.go.kr), the Giro website (www.giro.or.kr), virtual account transfer, or the automated response system (ARS).

A Paju City official stated, "We thank citizens for faithfully paying local taxes despite difficult economic conditions. We will continue to encourage timely tax payments through everyday promotional activities such as banners, notices in apartment complexes, and public notification text messages."
