The Resident Assembly is a core process of resident self-governance, where village agendas proposed by residents are shared and prioritized through voting to be reflected in policy. This year, under the theme of "Healing, Rest, and Health," it will be held as a village festival in which any resident can participate and enjoy.
In particular, Pungam-dong will move away from the previous one-day format and expand the event to a week-long Resident Assembly period, ensuring more opportunities for residents to vote and encouraging active participation.
Since last month, Pungam-dong has formed an Assembly Promotion Committee centered around the "Village BI (Brand Identity) Members," and through meetings of the Village Policy Participation Group and school assemblies, has identified five agenda items: ▲Expansion of participation in Good Club activities ▲A new name for Geumdangsan Mountain and the Forest of Mind and Body Healing ▲Happy Days in the Village, Pung-Day (楓-DAY) ▲Themed Park Season 2 ▲Shinbi Apartment Community Season 1.
All Pungam-dong residents of elementary school age or older can participate in the agenda voting. Voting is possible at ▲permanent polling stations (Pungam-dong Administrative Welfare Center, in front of Pureugen Pungam branch) ▲mobile polling stations set up at event venues during the Assembly week ▲and through outreach polling stations at schools and senior centers for residents who have difficulty visiting in person.
The voting results will be announced on the last day of the Resident Assembly week, the 21st, at the Pungam High School auditorium, along with agenda discussions and on-site vote counting.
To achieve the target voter turnout of 20%, Pungam-dong is conducting promotional activities similar to an actual election, such as agenda posters, agenda business cards, and division-level vote-getting campaigns. In addition, a variety of themed events will be held during the Assembly week, including a fairy tale world experience (in collaboration with the cartoon "Bread Barber Shop"), an apartment sports day, the Pungam Night Market, and Pungtral Park.
Hwang Jeongyeon, Chairperson of the Pungam-dong Residents' Self-Governance Council, said, "The Resident Assembly is the core of grassroots democracy, where residents directly decide on village projects. I hope everyone will enjoy the Assembly as a festival and actively participate in the agenda voting."
She added, "I ask for your interest so that this can become a true Resident Assembly led by residents themselves, including the Village BI Members."
