Polaris Office Forms Strategic Partnership with East Aid... Synergy Expected from Combining Search and Document Data From the left, Lee Haeseok, Vice President of Polaris Office, Kim Namhyun, CEO of East Aid. Polaris Office

On June 12, Polaris Office announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with East Aid, the operator of the portal 'ZUM', to officially provide a free web-based document editing service through Zum.com.

Through this collaboration, Zum.com users can now easily view and instantly edit a variety of document formats?including word, sheet, slide, and Hangul?directly on the web without the need to install any additional programs. The web-based nature of the service significantly improves accessibility, and it is expected to provide a practical and stable document work environment for office workers, students, and general users alike.

The integrated 'Polaris Office Web' also includes an AI-based issue trend analysis service provided by East Aid. Users can check the latest social, economic, and cultural issues in real time during document work, without needing to conduct separate searches or switch screens.

With the close integration of the search portal and web office through the two companies' collaboration, users can search for necessary information and immediately reflect it in their documents, or find and utilize required information instantly while working on documents. As a result, user experience (UX) and productivity are expected to improve significantly, and profitability is also anticipated to increase in line with higher traffic.

Both companies plan to use this partnership as an opportunity to introduce a new paradigm for AI training by combining search data and web office data over the mid- to long-term. Industry experts believe that merging the vast user query data from the search portal with actual document outputs from the web office could create a complete learning structure for AI, covering question-answering, content generation, and evaluation.

Because search portals serve as major user entry points and service distribution platforms, there are expectations for the development of an innovative user interface (UI) and experience (UX) that immediately provides AI-powered office functions?such as summarization, translation, and document creation?at the search stage. The organic integration of office, search, and AI is projected to further accelerate practical innovation for the public.

Polaris Office also plans to expand its connections beyond portal platforms to include platforms in various industries such as commerce, education, and the public sector.

Additionally, the company intends to accelerate the creation of next-generation productivity-centered work environments by offering advanced generative document features, such as personalized content recommendations based on user behavior data, as well as AI-based document summarization and automatic creation.

Furthermore, Polaris Office aims to continuously broaden the global scalability and industry-specific applicability of its office technology through collaborations with various AI ecosystems both domestically and internationally.

Lee Haeseok, Head of Business Division and Group AI Chief Vice President (CAIO), expressed his expectations, saying, "The attempt to integrate search portal and web office data will serve as a catalyst for innovation in the AI ecosystem," and added, "The development of new intelligent agents that can be immediately applied to real work environments is not far off."

Meanwhile, Polaris Office recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Intellectual Discovery to build an AI-based intellectual property investment ecosystem. The company is also accelerating the development of next-generation office solutions that incorporate AI technology by collaborating with leading AI companies such as Naver Cloud, LG AI Research, and Saltlux, and is actively pursuing an industry-specific 'vertical AI' strategy.
