The joint workshop, held on June 10, was attended by officials from both project groups and participating graduate students. The event began with a special lecture by Professor Heeseop Shin of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, followed by introductions of each project group and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between the two groups.

The Advanced Robotics Industry Workforce Development Project Group is a program supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and overseen by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement. It was selected in March of last year and will receive support for five years. This group focuses on cultivating practical professionals who understand innovative technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and are capable of integrating robotics with other industries.

The Human-Centered Robot System Education and Research Group is part of the fourth phase of the BK21 program, supported by the Ministry of Education, in the field of "Intelligent Robotics." It was selected in March and will receive support for three years. Its main goal is to train professionals in the field of human-centered intelligent robot systems, which integrates digital design and manufacturing technologies.

Kim Jungyeop, professor and director of the Advanced Robotics Industry Workforce Development Project Group, stated, "Our project group has been training master's and doctoral-level professionals in connection with specialized robotics companies, through curricula tailored to industry needs and industry-academia-linked thesis projects. We expect that, through the academic excellence and international exchange promoted by the BK21 program, the two groups will be able to generate synergies."

Park Geun, head of the BK21 Education and Research Group, said, "Both projects are being conducted primarily within the Department of Mechanical Design and Robotics Engineering at our graduate school. Through this business agreement, by sharing resources and maintaining close cooperation between the groups, we aim to create an educational and research environment where all department members can achieve a win-win outcome."
