On June 11, the KSD Nanum Foundation of Korea Securities Depository delivered a donation of 100 million won to the Ministry of Justice (Seoul Probation Office) to support the operation of the "Maeumeum Restorative Justice Program."
This program aims to move away from punishment-centered criminal sanctions and instead encourages active participation of those involved in crimes (victims, offenders, local communities, etc.) in the resolution process, with the goal of restoring damages and promoting reintegration.

Since 2018, the KSD Nanum Foundation has continuously supported restorative justice programs to help lower the youth crime recidivism rate and build a safer society by supporting the restoration of victims' rights, which are often excluded from offender-focused criminal justice systems, and by assisting offenders in returning as healthy members of society.
The Ministry of Justice has worked to improve both the quantity and quality of restorative justice programs by training professional instructors, expanding the scope of program participants and effectiveness analysis, and holding conferences to share best practices.
In particular, this year, the restorative justice model will be further expanded to help youth at the early stages of delinquency at the Youth Delinquency Prevention Center adapt to school and community life.
Lee Sunho, Chairman of the KSD Nanum Foundation, expressed hope that "through the restorative justice program, young people will experience emotional and behavioral change and grow to become healthy leaders in our society."
Lee Youngmyeon, Director of the Crime Prevention Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Justice, expressed gratitude, saying, "Through the continued interest and support of the KSD Nanum Foundation in crime prevention, we will help our youth grow up brighter and on the right path."
