Hyundai Motor Company launched the "2025 Porter II Electric Special Purpose Vehicle," which has been enhanced for practicality and convenience, on June 12.
The 2025 Porter II Electric Special Purpose Vehicle is a special model based on the 2025 Porter II Electric, which was released in March 2025. The new model features improved electric vehicle performance, the addition of an electric wingbody model, and a more premium exterior design for the high-roof van, all of which enhance its competitiveness in the market.
Hyundai has improved the rapid charging speed of the 2025 Porter II Electric Special Purpose Vehicle, reducing the time required to charge the battery from 10% to 80% from the previous 47 minutes to 32 minutes. This was achieved by applying new battery cells with higher energy density.
Additionally, to address the inconvenience caused by low ground clearance when driving on unpaved roads, the battery ground clearance has been increased by 10mm. An LED light has also been added above the charging port to improve visibility during nighttime charging.
The newly added electric wingbody model features a cargo bed length that is 250mm longer than the manual wingbody model, allowing it to carry more cargo. The electric wingbody and the flush rear twin doors, both operable via wireless remote control, further enhance convenience.
For the high-roof van model, Hyundai has incorporated new design elements such as an air spoiler, top corner rail caps, door handles and hinges, and side decal lines, reflecting the company's design identity.
In addition, a larger new rear auxiliary brake light has been installed, and an integrated rear bumper and step have been added to improve safety in the event of a collision. All van models are equipped with clear-coated door locking mechanisms to prevent discoloration and enhance durability over long-term use.
Furthermore, Hyundai has equipped the Powergate model, which allows the gate at the end of the cargo bed to be raised and lowered electrically, with a gate stopper. This feature prevents cargo from slipping or falling during loading and unloading, helping to prevent accidents and protect the cargo more effectively.
The prices for the 2025 Porter II Electric Special Purpose Vehicle are as follows: low-floor van 48,780,000 KRW, standard van 50,000,000 KRW, high-roof van 50,880,000 KRW, manual wingbody 50,780,000 KRW, electric wingbody 54,990,000 KRW, and Powergate 49,220,000 KRW.
Meanwhile, Hyundai will offer its exclusive customer care program for Porter II Electric, called "EV Biz Care," to special purpose vehicle customers as well. Upon delivery of a 2025 Porter II Electric Special Purpose Vehicle, customers can choose one of the following benefits: 500,000 credits, a 7kW home charger, or 200,000 credits plus a charging cable.
Other benefits include an electric vehicle fire safety program that provides up to 10 billion KRW in compensation for fire-related damages, the Blue Safety Inspection program that offers one annual safety check for 10 years after delivery, a dedicated charging subscription plan for the Porter II Electric Special Purpose Vehicle, and the "EV Charging Solution," which includes a mobile charging service.
