Yuhan Corporation Achieves Consecutive ESG Rating Upgrades
Recognized for Excellence in Talent Management and Governance by MSCI
Yuhan Corporation announced on June 12 that it has received an AA rating in the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) assessment conducted by the global financial information company Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), marking an upgrade of one level compared to last year. This comes just one year after the company was upgraded from a BBB rating to an A rating.
Since 1999, MSCI has been evaluating approximately 8,500 publicly listed companies worldwide on key ESG issues, assigning ratings across seven levels from AAA to CCC.
In this assessment, Yuhan Corporation was recognized for excellence in talent management, including a lower turnover rate compared to the industry average and the expansion of job competency training. In particular, the company received top scores for its joint education programs in collaboration with educational institutions, regular performance evaluation and feedback processes, and training programs for competency development by job category. Additionally, Yuhan Corporation received top-tier global evaluations in various areas, including strengthening the independence of the board of directors and audit committee, the absence of compliance violations, and enhanced pharmaceutical quality control.
To strengthen ESG management, Yuhan Corporation has been publishing a sustainability report since 2022, disclosing its sustainability performance and activities. In 2025, the company established an ESG Committee under the board of directors to build governance for implementing its mid- to long-term sustainability management strategy.
A Yuhan Corporation representative stated, "As a result of company-wide efforts in ESG management activities, Yuhan Corporation's ESG management achievements have been recognized by a global ESG assessment agency," adding, "We will not be satisfied with two consecutive years of rating upgrades and will continue to strengthen our commitment to sustainable management going forward."
