President Trump stated in a post on the social networking service Truth Social that "the agreement with China has been finalized and must receive final approval from President Xi Jinping and myself."

President Trump explained, "All permanent magnets and all necessary rare earth elements will be supplied by China in an 'up front' manner," and added, "We will provide China with the agreed terms, including those related to Chinese students attending our universities."

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, along with their respective delegations, met in London from June 9 to 10 and agreed to establish a framework for implementing the U.S.-China trade agreement reached in Geneva last month.
