Kim Dongyeon: "The New Government Must Succeed... Will Work with the Lee Jaemyung Administration"

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon stated, "The new government must succeed," and added, "As the number one national partner, Gyeonggi Province will work together with the Lee Jaemyung administration for the success of the government."

On June 11, during a Q&A session with Kang Taehyung, a Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly member (Democratic Party of Korea, Ansan 5), at the 384th regular session of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly, Governor Kim said, "The new government was launched through the presidential election to create a new democracy and a new Republic of Korea," expressing these views.

Governor Kim first emphasized, "Gyeonggi Province will work together as the number one national partner for the success of the government," and promised, "We will support the administration at the forefront of people's livelihoods, and as the primary partner for successful governance, Gyeonggi Province will mobilize all human, material, and policy resources to provide full support."

He also responded, "We will join forces with the central government to address various pending issues in Gyeonggi Province, achieve results, improve the quality of life for our residents, and further develop Gyeonggi Province."

In particular, he reiterated, "The new government must succeed," and added, "I hope the new government will make even greater efforts to overcome the crisis of democracy, address the economic situation, and achieve national unity, and Gyeonggi Province will actively participate in these efforts."

Regarding the 12·3 Martial Law incident and the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol, Governor Kim stated, "Martial law was something that should never have happened; both the content and the procedure were unconstitutional and illegal. It shook the very foundation of democracy," and added, "It damaged the dignity of the Republic of Korea and further worsened the already difficult economy. It was, in every sense, something that should never have occurred."
