Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Checks, Smoking Cessation and Alcohol Reduction Counseling, and More Health Consultations

The Hongseong County Public Health Center in South Chungcheong Province announced that on the morning of June 11, it operated the 'Health Talk Talk! Outdoor Health Consultation Day' at the outdoor rest area of the Hongseong-eup Administrative Welfare Center to promote early detection of chronic diseases and improve the health of local residents.
The center explained that it has expanded the previously indoor 'Wednesday is Chronic Disease Consultation Day' program by moving it outdoors, making it more accessible so that any local resident can participate.
The health consultations provided a variety of integrated health services, including: blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol measurements for the prevention and management of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases; InBody measurements and exercise guidance; smoking cessation and alcohol reduction counseling; and information on infectious disease prevention and proper handwashing techniques.

The 'Health Talk Talk! Outdoor Health Consultation Day' will be held four more times on June 25, September 24, October 15, and October 29, with plans to add new medical programs such as oral health checkups and depression screenings.
The program operates from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If there is inclement weather (such as rain or typhoons), it will be held in the main conference room of the county public health center.
Lim Hyunyoung, head of the Health Promotion Division at the county public health center, stated, "Through the outdoor health consultation program, we aim to prevent chronic diseases and promote the health of local residents in their daily lives," adding, "We will strive to help residents develop healthy lifestyle habits by providing a variety of health management services."
Meanwhile, according to last year's community health survey, the hypertension diagnosis rate in the Hongseong area was 26.5%, which is higher than the national rate of 21.1% and the South Chungcheong rate of 23.1%. The diabetes diagnosis rate was also 9.7%, higher than the national rate of 9.4% and the South Chungcheong rate of 9.5%, highlighting the need for early detection of chronic disease patients.
