The poetry concert "Read, Walk, Sing" by Band Yeosi will be held at Veloso Hongdae at 7:00 p.m. on June 13, 2025.
This performance will feature acoustic reinterpretations of songs based on poems by female poets, as well as newly created poetry songs. The works and poetry songs of female poets such as Lee Haein, Ko Jeonghee, Mok Pilgyun, Choi Youngmi, Na Heeduk, Kim Mihye, and Jung Jiweon will be presented.
Band Yeosi was formed as an alter ego project by independent musicians with diverse musical backgrounds. The group consists of six members: three female musicians, Yoon Mijin, Oh Soyoung, and Han Sunhee, along with Park Hyemin (keyboard), Cho Sunghwan (guitar), and Choi Sungeun (violin). Starting with the performance at Veloso Hongdae, they plan to continue their tour at cultural and arts centers and regional literary museums across the country.
Yoon Mijin, CEO of Soritgil Media and the planner of this concert, said, "We hope to create a sense of connection through 'poetry songs,' which are the essence of the beautiful Korean language," and added, "We aim to bring the joy of newly interpreting the poems of female poets through music."
As a guest storyteller, poet Choi Youngmi will take the stage. She will share stories of modern female poets, set against the backdrop of poetry songs based on her own works such as "Love Song for Adonis" and "At Seonunsa."
