Two Pilots Eject Safely in Emergency
Both Being Transported to Hospital
An emergency ejection occurred during takeoff from a Republic of Korea Air Force KF-16 fighter jet that was training in Alaska, United States.
According to the Air Force on June 11, at 9:02 a.m. local time, an emergency ejection situation occurred while a Republic of Korea KF-16 fighter jet was taking off at the U.S. Air Force Eielson Base. The Republic of Korea Air Force is currently participating in the "Red Flag Alaska" training exercise, which includes South Korea, the United States, Japan, Belgium, and others.
This aircraft is a two-seat fighter jet, and two pilots were on board. Both pilots ejected safely and are being transported to a nearby hospital.
The Air Force stated, "We will confirm the exact details of the accident in close cooperation with the U.S. side."
