Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority to Hold 'Korea-China Economic and Industrial Forum' on June 19... Cooperation in Promising Future Industries

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority will host the '2025 Korea-China Economic and Industrial Forum' on June 19 at the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel.


The forum, held to mark the 10th anniversary of the Korea-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA), will be conducted under the theme "10th Anniversary of the Korea-China FTA: Discussing Future Promising Industries and Supply Chain Cooperation." The event will be attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Korea, the Korea Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the head of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Korea, and business leaders from both countries. The forum will feature various presentations and corporate sessions.


During the morning session, Korean and Chinese experts will deliver presentations and engage in in-depth discussions on topics related to the FTA and supply chains.


Jung Hwanwoo, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and Kim Suhan, Research Fellow at the Economic and Environmental Research Division of the Incheon Institute, will give presentations titled "10 Years of the Korea-China FTA: Achievements and Challenges" and "Exploring the Role of Local Governments in the Korea-China FTA," respectively. In addition, Hao Junfeng, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at the University of International Business and Economics in China, will present on "Enhancing Implementation of the Korea-China FTA and Deepening Supply Chain Cooperation."


Alongside the forum, a friendship and cooperation agreement signing ceremony will be held between the Qingdao Area Administrative Committee of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, both of which are visiting for this event.

In the afternoon, following investment promotion sessions for economic zones in both countries, leading companies from Korea and China will share examples of cooperation and visions in advanced industries such as smart logistics, bio-pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence (AI).


In the smart logistics sector, Samyoung Logistics from Korea and Sinotrans Korea Shipping from China will present cooperation strategies. In bio-pharmaceuticals, Mindray Medical Korea from China will participate. In semiconductors, SP Semiconductor Communication from Korea and SINEVA Korea from China will discuss collaboration. In the AI sector, NEOLIX from China will introduce cooperation plans between Korean and Chinese companies for each industry.


Yoon Wonseok, Commissioner of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, stated, "I hope this forum, marking the 10th anniversary of the Korea-China FTA, will serve as a starting point for both countries to establish new partnerships in promising future industries and supply chain cooperation." He added, "With the resumption of the second round of Korea-China FTA negotiations, the Incheon Free Economic Zone will have the opportunity to emerge as a hub for global advanced industries and innovation ecosystems."
