The KOSPI index surpassed the 2,900 mark for the first time in three years and five months.
As of 9:33 a.m. on June 11, the KOSPI was trading at 2,902.22, up 30.37 points (1.06%) from the previous day. The index opened at 2,887.32, up 15.47 points (0.54%). At present, foreign investors have made net purchases worth 51.1 billion KRW. Meanwhile, institutions and individual investors have recorded net sales of 33.4 billion KRW and 6.6 billion KRW, respectively.

Among the top KOSPI stocks by market capitalization, Doosan Enerbility (up 4.79%), Samsung Life Insurance (up 4.56%), SK Hynix (up 4.12%), Hyundai Mobis (up 3.27%), Kia (up 1.90%), Hyundai Motor (up 1.78%), LG Energy Solution (up 1.56%), Samsung Electronics (up 1.18%), Hanwha Ocean (up 1.14%), and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (up 1.04%) were all on the rise. In contrast, KB Financial Group (down 2.16%), Shinhan Financial Group (down 1.81%), Hanwha Aerospace (down 1.71%), HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (down 1.17%), and Celltrion (down 0.06%) were declining.
By sector, insurance (up 2.61%), machinery and equipment (up 2.37%), electricity and gas (up 2.20%), electrical and electronics (up 1.98%), medical precision instruments (up 1.88%), and manufacturing (up 1.39%) were showing strength. Notably, in the medical precision instruments sector, seven stocks rose, resulting in a high increase rate of 87.50%, while 62 stocks in the electrical and electronics sector advanced. On the other hand, securities (down 0.65%), non-metallic minerals (down 0.60%), textiles and apparel (down 0.27%), real estate (down 0.22%), and construction (down 0.18%) sectors were weak.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index was at 778.86, up 7.66 points (0.99%) from the previous session. The index opened at 775.43, up 4.23 points (0.55%). Foreign investors and individual investors recorded net sales of 1.4 billion KRW and 29.1 billion KRW, respectively, while institutions made net purchases of 33.9 billion KRW.
Among the top KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization, Samchundang Pharm (up 8.91%), Gemvax (up 5.17%), Peptron (up 3.58%), Ecopro BM (up 2.60%), Alteogen (up 2.16%), Lino Industrial (up 2.08%), Kolon TissueGene (up 2.08%), PharmaResearch (up 1.92%), ABL Bio (up 1.91%), Silicon Two (up 1.74%), Hugel (up 1.38%), and Rainbow Robotics (up 1.24%) were all rising. In contrast, JYP Ent. (down 1.60%) was declining.
