Ministry of SMEs and Startups to Dispatch K-Startup Delegation to VivaTech 2025
26 Promising Startups to Participate in the "K-Startup Pavilion" in Paris
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it will dispatch a K-Startup delegation to "Viva Technology (VivaTech) 2025," Europe's largest startup exhibition, which will be held from June 11 to June 14, local time, at Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France.
VivaTech is Europe's largest startup and innovation technology exhibition, organized annually since 2016 by the French economic daily Les Echos and the advertising and PR agency Publicis Groupe. "VivaTech 2025" is expected to attract approximately 165,000 visitors and around 13,500 startups from around the world.
Since Korea was selected as "Country of the Year" at "VivaTech 2023," the Ministry has been sending a "K-Startup" delegation to VivaTech every year.
This year, in collaboration with domestic startup support organizations such as the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, Chungnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, Incheon Technopark, and Seoul AI Hub, the Ministry will operate a "K-Startup Pavilion" within the VivaTech exhibition hall and support the participation of 26 promising Korean startups. The companies participating in the "K-Startup Pavilion" will receive systematic support, including pre-event training, customized business matching, and local networking opportunities.
In addition, to help participating startups achieve tangible results at VivaTech, the Ministry plans to host "K-Startup Night," a networking event with local French investors, accelerators, and media, as well as "Super Pitch Korea," an IR pitching event targeting local investors and startup-related organizations, during the exhibition period.
Shim Jaeyoon, Director of Startup Policy, who attended the event to support "K-Startup," stated, "VivaTech is a great opportunity for our companies to validate their innovative technologies in the European market and expand global partnership opportunities," adding, "The Ministry will actively support K-Startups so they can use VivaTech as a bridgehead to enter the European market more vigorously."
