Meet Residents at the Traditional Market on the 16th of Every Month
Engage in Candid Conversations and Listen to Concerns
Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province will hold the "Residents' Happiness Talk," a monthly event where the county governor meets and communicates with residents at the Geochang Traditional Market on the 16th of every month.
The first session of the Residents' Happiness Talk is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. on the 16th at the Geochang Market Merchants' Association customer lounge and meeting room. Any resident visiting the Geochang Traditional Market can participate. In addition, the county plans to continue holding the Happiness Talk every month to ensure ongoing on-site communication with residents.
The Residents' Happiness Talk is designed as an opportunity for the county governor to sit down directly with residents at the market, where daily life unfolds, and engage in candid conversations about current issues in county administration and directions for regional development. In particular, the event aims to move away from one-sided reports or formal meetings, and instead create an open forum for communication where the voices and concerns of residents are listened to and practical opinions are reflected in county policies.
County Governor Goo Inmo stated, "Listening directly to the vivid voices of residents is the most important standard for leading county administration with resident participation," and added, "I will continue to communicate closely with residents and implement administration that residents can truly feel, creating a happier Geochang."
Meanwhile, the county plans to actively address the suggestions made by residents during the dialogue sessions by having the relevant departments conduct on-site investigations, review the appropriateness of proposed projects, and consider methods and timing for implementation.
