Request for Active Participation from Related Organizations and Volunteer Groups
From June 9 to 10, Uiryeong County Mayor Oh Tae-wan and public officials carried out a rural volunteer program to assist farms struggling with labor shortages during the onion and garlic harvest season.
For this initiative, more than 440 people were mobilized to help with the harvest at 21 onion and garlic farms, covering 5.1 hectares.

Meanwhile, the county has designated the period from May 7 to June 20 as the first half's intensive rural volunteer period, and has been providing manpower support to farms in cooperation with relevant organizations and groups.
Mayor Oh Tae-wan said, "I hope this has provided at least some help to farms facing labor shortages due to the decline in rural manpower and the aging population," and added, "I ask for the active participation of related organizations and volunteer groups during the remaining period of the rural volunteer initiative."
