Daegu's Representative Library to Open in October... Citizen Survey on Needs Launched Daegu Library Survey Promotion Material

Any Daegu citizen interested in Daegu Library can participate in the survey. Through 30 questions, the survey will collect opinions on collections, reading room operations, cultural programs, and local reading promotion.

In particular, a separate survey for youth has been prepared to directly gather and actively reflect their opinions on required spaces and library services, with the aim of increasing library usage among young people.

The survey will be conducted online, and participants can easily access it via QR code. For more information, citizens can refer to the notice board on the Daegu Integrated Library website or contact the Library Operations Preparation Task Force of the Daegu City University Policy Division.

The survey results will be analyzed by field and used as foundational data for establishing library operation plans, ensuring that citizens' opinions are actively incorporated into library management.

Jung Jaeseok, Director of University Policy at Daegu City, stated, "As Daegu's first directly managed library and a representative library for the region, Daegu Library aims to be built together with citizens, so we ask for your active participation. Even after the opening in October, we will do our best to ensure that the library remains a citizen-centered institution that listens to the voices of the people."

Meanwhile, Daegu Library is being constructed on the returned site of the Camp Walker helipad in Nam-gu, with a total floor area of 15,075 square meters, comprising one basement level and four above-ground floors. It will be equipped with reading rooms, a joint preservation archive, a cafe and restaurant, and an auditorium, and is scheduled to open in October 2025.
