Ulsan City will host the '2025 Korea Ulsan Archery International Symposium' at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center from June 10 to June 13.

This international event will be held under the theme, "The Origin of the Bow, From Ulsan, Korea! Shoot Towards the World!"

More than 200 archery experts and officials from 42 countries will gather to engage in in-depth discussions on the sustainable development and globalization strategies of archery.

The participating countries include 15 Asian nations (such as Mongolia), 19 European countries (such as Hungary), 3 Middle Eastern countries (such as Jordan), 1 African country, 3 North and South American countries, and 1 Oceanian country, totaling 42 countries. This broad participation from every continent demonstrates the high level of international interest in the event.

The event will begin with an opening ceremony and welcome reception at 5:30 p.m. on June 10. On June 11, there will be keynote presentations and country-specific presentations focused on the sustainable development and globalization of archery. On June 12, the "Ulsan Declaration of Korea" will be announced and signed. On the final day, June 13, participants will take part in a field tour of Ulsan, including sites such as the Banguchon Petroglyphs.

The core of the presentations on June 11 will feature a total of 11 speakers: 2 from Korea and 9 from overseas.

Key presentations include Director Kim Deoksoon of the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Intangible Heritage Center, who will speak on "The Origin of the Bow and the Cultural Heritage Value of Ulsan." Other presentations will offer various perspectives and strategies on the sustainable development and globalization of archery.

Jaffer Metin Atas, Chair of External Relations at the Turkish Archery Federation, will discuss the impact of Westernization and modernization on traditional archery and present cases of revitalization. Lin Yuder, President of the Taiwan Archery Association, will propose a practical approach to traditional archery in modern society, highlighting the potential for its expansion as a functional practice in contemporary life.

In addition, the "Ulsan Declaration of Korea," to be held on June 12, will officially announce the establishment of the World Archery Federation and the World Archery Center Ulsan Headquarters.

During the seminar, there will also be special programs, including tours of the Banguchon Petroglyphs and Taehwagang National Garden, offering participants the opportunity to experience Ulsan’s natural and cultural heritage and reflect on the roots of archery.

The city expects that this event will serve as a significant turning point in publicizing Ulsan as the historical birthplace of bow culture and in spreading archery culture worldwide.

Following this symposium, Ulsan City plans to actively prepare for the World Archery Championships scheduled for October.
