During Laon Festa and Chuseok Holiday Period
Dong-gu District in Gwangju announced on June 9 that it will launch a large-scale consumer refund event, 'Sinaero WOW,' in the Chungjang-ro area starting on June 13 to revitalize the local commercial district.
The 'Sinaero WOW' event, which will run until December, is a project designed to boost foot traffic and stimulate consumption in the Chungjang commercial district. This refund event is funded by 100 million won in Onnuri Gift Certificates donated to support the revitalization of the Chungjang commercial area. Consumers who spend at least 20,000 won at stores in the Chungjang-ro area and present their receipts will receive a refund of 10,000 won per person.
The refund event will be held in conjunction with the 'Chungjang Laon Festa,' which is organized to activate the Chungjang commercial district. The schedule includes the Laon Festa opening ceremony on June 13-14, the Chuseok holiday period on September 27-28, and the Laon Festa from October 15-18. The event aims to attract not only local consumers but also visitors from outside the region.
Im Taek, head of the district office, stated, "This refund event will serve as a catalyst for a real increase in sales in the local commercial district, going beyond simply encouraging consumption," and added, "Through continued public-private cooperation, we will reestablish Chungjang-ro as Gwangju's leading commercial district."
