Hongseong County in South Chungcheong Province confirmed the potential for entering the LA market by achieving the signing of an MOU worth 3.6 million dollars at an export consultation meeting held at the Sheraton Cerritos Hotel in Los Angeles, USA, on June 5, 2025.

The export consultation meeting was hosted by Hongseong County and organized by the Chungnam Economic Promotion Agency and the Chungcheongnam-do USA Office. Eight companies from Hongseong County's Overseas Market Development Team participated, holding one-on-one export consultations with local buyers.

During the consultation meeting, a total of 66 consultations were held, resulting in export consultation achievements amounting to 11.03 million dollars (approximately 15 billion KRW). The Overseas Market Development Team of Hongseong County succeeded in signing MOUs worth 3.6 million dollars (about 4.9 billion KRW), receiving a positive response from the local market.

The Overseas Market Development Team of Hongseong County consisted of eight companies: three Gwangcheon seasoned seaweed producers at the heart of K-food, one frozen gimbap company, three companies related to building materials such as metal windows and roofing materials, and one automotive brake manufacturer. These companies showcased excellent local products to local buyers.

In particular, Hongseong County also signed a business agreement (MOU) with the LA Korean American Chamber of Commerce, agreeing to strengthen a cooperative system for entering the North American market based on mutual trust between the two organizations.

The county plans to actively pursue follow-up management, such as arranging additional consultations, connecting with buyers, and supporting the implementation of MOUs, in close cooperation with the Chungcheongnam-do USA Office, to ensure that the results of the consultations lead to actual exports.

A county official stated, "We will continue to seek various support measures to expand exports and will focus even more administrative efforts on fostering outstanding export companies in Hongseong County."
