Samsung Biologics Achieves Record Performance Last Year

Visit to Samsung Bioepis Facility as Well
Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y Lee visited the Samsung Biologics facility, which achieved its highest-ever performance last year.
According to the business community on June 9, Chairman Lee visited the Samsung Biologics site in Songdo, Incheon on this day, where he inspected the ongoing construction of Plant 5 and reviewed the company’s business strategy.
Vice Chairman Jeong Hyunho of Samsung Electronics and CEO John Rim of Samsung Biologics were also reported to be present at the site.

Samsung Biologics is constructing Plant 5 with a capacity of 180,000 liters, aiming to begin operations in April. Upon completion of Plant 5, the company’s total production capacity will reach 784,000 liters.
Chairman Lee’s visit appears to be intended to encourage the employees of Samsung Biologics, which achieved record-breaking results last year. Samsung Biologics surpassed 4 trillion won in consolidated sales last year. It is the first time for a domestic pharmaceutical or biotech company to exceed 4 trillion won in annual sales, and Samsung Biologics achieved this milestone.
It was also reported that after visiting Samsung Biologics, Chairman Lee was scheduled to visit the Samsung Bioepis facility on the same day.
