Proposed Directly by President Lee Jaemyung, Installation to Be Completed by Mid-June
"Moving Away from One-Sided Communication Toward Interactive Delivery"
The Office of the President has announced plans to improve the briefing room system in line with the Lee Jaemyung administration's state philosophy, which prioritizes communication and listening to the public. By the middle of June, four additional cameras will be installed in the briefing room to provide coverage of briefings from various angles.
On June 8, spokesperson Kang Yujeong stated during a briefing at the Yongsan presidential office, "This is in response to President Lee's proposal to enhance the public's right to know and the transparency of briefings."
Kang continued, "We plan to install four additional cameras in the briefing room to vividly convey scenes of communication between the president and the media from various angles. Moving away from the previous one-sided approach that only showed the presidential spokesperson and officials, we will now deliver a more interactive and vivid view, including journalists asking questions and scenes from the site."
When asked whether there was public demand for this change, an official from the Office of the President explained, "As far as I know, both the White House and United Nations (UN) meetings operate press rooms. In line with the trends of the times, and considering public demand and the right to know, we determined that satisfaction would be high, so the president gave direct instructions for this to be implemented."
