Beta Service Launched for DX Division Employees
Code Writing, Modification, and Testing Possible via Natural Language Commands
Official Rollout as Early as Next Month... Company-wide Expansion of AI Utilization
New 'AI Productivity Innovation Group' Established to Strengthen Organizational Structure
Samsung Electronics has introduced the AI-powered coding assistant 'Cline' to its development workforce in an effort to boost productivity.
According to industry sources on June 8, Samsung Electronics recently announced on its internal bulletin board that it would launch a beta service for Cline, targeting employees in the Device eXperience (DX) division.
Cline is an AI coding agent capable of writing, modifying, and generating test code based solely on natural language commands. For example, a command such as "create a login function" can trigger a series of development tasks.
Cline is evaluated as providing substantial support for improving development productivity, as it can assist not only with simple tasks but also with complex development work in a step-by-step manner.
Samsung Electronics is known to have optimized the open-source version of Cline for its own security system before implementation. The beta service will be operated until the end of this month, and after incorporating necessary improvements, the official rollout is planned as early as next month.
Recently, Samsung Electronics established the 'AI Productivity Innovation Group' within the Device eXperience (DX) division, accelerating organizational innovation through AI technology.
This group serves as a control tower for company-wide AI infrastructure and system development, AI adoption and support, and the dissemination of best practices, leading AI-driven work innovation at the group level.
In addition, each business unit has set up its own 'AI Productivity Innovation Secretariat' to strengthen execution at the field level. This is interpreted as a strategic move by Samsung Electronics to expand AI technology throughout all business operations.
