Application Documents to Be Deleted, Fees to Be Refunded
President Lee Jaemyung: "The Security Service Must Serve the People"
The Presidential Security Service has abruptly canceled this year's scheduled recruitment examination for security officials. Although the recruitment process had been announced and was underway under the previous administration, the new government has decided to completely redesign the selection criteria for candidates in line with its policy of "open security" and "low-profile security."
According to political sources on June 6, the Presidential Security Service announced on its website the previous day that it would cancel both the "open competitive recruitment for Grade 7 special security officials," for which applications were currently being accepted, and the "career competitive recruitment for special and general government officials," for which the examination process was ongoing. The open recruitment exam for Grade 7 was announced on June 2, and the career recruitment exam was announced on May 20. Both recruitment processes were initiated under the acting presidency of Lee Juho.

The Presidential Security Service explained that the cancellation was due to "internal review in order to implement the 'open security' and 'low-profile security' policies following the change of government." All application documents submitted online by existing applicants will be deleted, and examination fees will be refunded.
Earlier, on June 4, President Lee Jaemyung announced the appointment of Hwang Inkwon as Chief of the Presidential Security Service, stating that "we will bring about changes to the Security Service through open and low-profile security for the people."
