Google Sponsorship and AI Education Support
Accelerating the Development of Future Talent Among Local Youth
Uiseong County in Gyeongbuk announced on June 6 that it is recruiting participants for the 'Youth Developer Competition' until June 8.
This competition will be held over three days from June 27 to June 29 at the Uiseong Gymnasium, and is an event where participants compete in software development skills under the theme of solving community issues.
Any young person interested in coding and programming can participate, and applications can be submitted through the Uiseong County Office website or the online youth platform.
In particular, this competition is supported by the Google Developer Group (GDG), and after online preliminary training and team formation, a total of 100 young developers will advance to the finals.
Finalists will be provided with opportunities for cloud learning and generative AI training, including Google's official education program 'Build with AI', as well as professional developer mentoring.
Additionally, the competition will offer participation opportunities to local high school students, and will run AI-based coding education and on-site exploration programs for elementary school students to help foster future talent.
Uiseong County successfully held the first Youth Developer Competition last year at Binggye Eoreumgol Campsite.
This year, starting with this competition, the county plans to expand support programs for young developers, such as the 'Youth Developer Conference' and 'Youth Developer Academy' in the second half of the year, in order to establish a foundation for local talent to grow continuously.
Kim Jusu, Mayor of Uiseong County, said, "We will continue to expand programs for young developers so that local youth can build connections with Uiseong and create an environment where they can settle down in the long term."
