The launch ceremony was attended by a total of 31 institutions, including major corporations such as Hyundai Motor Company, LG Electronics, and KT, as well as Seoul National University, KAIST, Soongsil University, and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). AI startups, associations, and other public and private sector organizations, as well as academia, also participated, marking a new beginning for collaboration among industry, academia, research, and government.

The 'Seocho AI Innovation Network' will focus its activities on four key strategic directions: building an open innovation platform for AI demonstration, fostering AI talent and providing community education, driving administrative innovation and improving public services through AI, and establishing a cooperative system to support the growth of AI startups. Through an operating council, the network will coordinate major projects and policies, and will form specialized committees in each field to set concrete goals and implementation plans.

With the launch of this network, the district plans to apply AI technology to various areas, including solving local issues, nurturing young talent, supporting startups, and providing digital education for residents. A range of programs will be rolled out sequentially, such as region-specific AI project competitions, professional AI certification courses, special AI lectures for residents, AI hackathons for idea generation, and AI festivals that all generations can enjoy. User-friendly, daily life-oriented programs will also be prepared to ensure that even residents unfamiliar with AI can easily participate.

Seocho District Mayor Jeon Seongsu stated, "AI technology is no longer the exclusive property of certain industries, but is now a core infrastructure that affects the lives of all residents," and added, "I hope that the Seocho AI Innovation Network will serve as a bridge between the local community and industry, leading to real change and growth."
