June 7-13 at Hongju Culture Center Exhibition Hall in Hongseong
A large-scale exhibition featuring renowned artists from across the country is drawing attention in Hongseong, South Chungcheong Province.
The National Artists Special Exhibition "The Aesthetics of 100 Works" will be held for one week from June 7 to June 13 at the exhibition hall of Hongju Culture Center in Hongseong-eup, Hongseong-gun, South Chungcheong Province.
Organized by the Gonggam Institute of Culture and Arts and supported by South Chungcheong Province and Hongseong-gun, this national special exhibition will feature 30 prominent artists from across Korea, showcasing 30 flat works including Western and Eastern paintings.
The exhibition is attracting particular interest because only large-scale works of size 100 or larger will be displayed, making it a rare opportunity to experience such an event in a local city.
Lee An, the curator and Western-style painter who prepared this exhibition, said, "This project began with a long-held wish I wanted to realize someday," and added, "I hope that a new flow of art will permeate this local city of Hongseong, and that this exhibition will become a stage where the sensibilities of artists and visitors are connected."
She continued, "When these large canvases are gathered in one space, they themselves become a new scene, and I hope they will form a unique texture that concentrates the thoughts of contemporary artists living in the same era."
The opening ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on June 7, and there will also be opportunities for interaction between the artists and the audience.
