"Promoting Eunpyeong District as the Core Hub of Northwestern Seoul"
On June 5, Eunpyeong District in Seoul announced its plan to transform the district into a future hub of northwestern Seoul, taking the launch of the "People's Sovereignty Government" as an opportunity.
Mikyung Kim, Mayor of Eunpyeong District, stated, "President Lee Jaemyung's pragmatic policies, characterized by 'Meoksanism' and 'Jalsanism,' will bring significant changes to our daily lives." She added, "Eunpyeong District has formed a 'New Government Inauguration National Agenda Response Task Force (TF)' to re-examine major local issues and proactively address the core tasks of the People's Sovereignty Government."
The new government has previously announced pledges related to the development of Eunpyeong District, including the development of the Susaek Station area, promotion of the Goyang-Sinsa Line, establishment of the Sinsagogae Station, expedited redevelopment and reconstruction projects, construction of middle schools in Nokbeon, Eungam, and Susaek areas, and support for the opening of the Second Unification Road (Segumjeong-Gupabal Tunnel). These are long-awaited projects that the district has already been actively pursuing. Eunpyeong District plans to respond to these key projects by forming the 'New Government Inauguration National Agenda Response TF' to ensure that these pledges are implemented without delay.
In addition, among the new government's major pledges, the district hopes for the prompt implementation of local decentralization, which strengthens the authority of local governments?a need that the district has continuously raised?as well as regional economic recovery through local currency.
Meanwhile, the district congratulated the election of the 21st President Lee Jaemyung and expressed its expectation that, together with the new government, Eunpyeong District will be able to emerge as a future hub of northwestern Seoul.
