Exploring Human Diversity and Coexistence Through Inclusive Design
Advance ticket sales have begun for the '2025 Gwangju Design Biennale', which will open on August 30.
The '2025 Gwangju Design Biennale' will be held from August 30 to November 2 at the Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall and various locations throughout Gwangju. Under the theme "The World That Is You: How Does Design Embrace Humanity?", the event will explore the future of inclusive design by examining human diversity and coexistence through design.
This year's Design Biennale will feature a variety of programs, including the main exhibition, an international symposium, special projects, and the 72-hour Design Challenge. Through these, the event will highlight the social role and influence of design, and offer exhibition content that allows visitors to experience the values of consideration and connection in everyday life.
In particular, the event will showcase design works that go beyond the narrow definition of improving accessibility for people with disabilities and the elderly. It will present cases where design enhances the quality of society and life, and even drives innovation in businesses and society. International design cases proposing sustainability are also expected to inspire visitors with new ideas.
Advance tickets can be purchased through Interpark, and buyers will receive discounted admission. In addition, special discounts are available for group visitors and youth, encouraging participation from educational institutions and family groups.
Admission for adults is 16,000 won at the door, but about an 18% discount is offered for advance purchases, bringing the price to 13,000 won. For advance ticket holders, the price for youth is 6,000 won and for children is 3,000 won.
On June 5, Kim Seongbae, Director of Culture and Sports, said, "Design has become a tool that goes beyond simple visual aesthetics to understand and embrace humanity. I hope this Design Biennale will provide an opportunity for visitors to understand differences with others and discover ways of coexistence through design."
