Goryeong County, led by Governor Lee Namcheol, held a no-smoking awareness campaign on June 4 at the permanent stage of Daegaya Market to commemorate the 38th World No Tobacco Day.

This campaign, under the theme "Glamorous Temptation, Let's Unmask It," was organized in collaboration with the Goryeong Office of Education, the local voluntary crime prevention unit, and no-smoking guides, aiming to promote smoking cessation and foster a broad social consensus.
At the event, participants wore sashes and took part in a cigarette butt collection campaign. The "365 the Healthier" health promotion booth also attracted significant attention from residents.
In particular, the health promotion booth was linked to "Oral Health Day" (June 9) and provided practical health information, including gum care for the prevention of periodontal disease, measurement of blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol, education on the prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, information on proper salt intake, and tips for preventing atopic dermatitis and asthma.
A local resident who participated in the event said, "I was reminded that quitting smoking is not just a personal matter, but directly affects the health of family and neighbors as well. I will continue to spread the positive impact of smoking cessation to those around me."
An official from Goryeong County stated, "We will support residents in leading healthy lifestyles through a variety of no-smoking policies and health campaigns."
