Amicogen, a company specializing in enzymes and bio-materials, announced on June 5 that it participated in 'Vitafoods Europe 2025,' held in Barcelona, Spain, from the 20th to the 22nd of last month, establishing a foothold for entry into the European collagen market.
This year's event was the first to be held in Barcelona, having moved from Geneva, Switzerland, and it attracted significant attention from the industry as both the number of participating companies and visitors increased substantially. Amicogen actively promoted its flagship ingredient, 'Low Molecular Weight Collagen Tripeptide' (CTP), targeting the European market.
In particular, the company explained that it generated deep interest and positive responses to its raw materials and finished products from companies in major European countries such as France, the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, and Turkey, based on scientific data from preclinical and human application trials.
During the exhibition period, Amicogen continued strategic discussions with existing clients regarding expanding orders and joint marketing for the second half of this year and next year. The company reached an agreement with Russia's InVita to increase collagen order volume from 100 tons this year to 150 tons next year, and also held detailed talks regarding the supply of DCI materials for the second half of the year.
Additionally, Irish partner Vita-Active has decided to launch the 'K-Col' brand using Amicogen's collagen materials and confirmed plans to significantly increase import volumes in the second half of the year, further strengthening its partnership with Amicogen.
The company also reported notable achievements in securing new clients. More than 10 meetings related to contract manufacturing (OEM/ODM) were held during the exhibition, with buyers from Central and South America (Colombia, Panama, Brazil) and the Middle East (Iran, Lebanon) showing strong interest in fish collagen and K-beauty products. There was also a marked increase in ODM inquiries from these regions.
Buyers from Eastern Europe and the Balkan region (Kosovo, Serbia) proposed importing Korean-made products and collaborating on ODM, while a Polish company requested a quote including specific minimum order quantity (MOQ) conditions, indicating the formation of a new order base.
Hwang Eunsung, Head of Amicogen's Healthcare Business Division, stated, "Through this exhibition, we were able to directly confirm the global market's keen interest in 'Low Molecular Weight Collagen Tripeptide.' As an innovative health functional ingredient company, we will further solidify our position and continue to expand our market share in the global health and nutrition industry through strategic cooperation with both existing and new partners."
