The "Imjingak Peace Gondola Skywalk" is a pedestrian-only bridge that will be installed to connect the upper station of the Imjingak Peace Gondola with Camp Greaves.

There have been concerns regarding this section, as the steep slope and lack of safety facilities due to the area's topography have made it difficult for tourists, including those with limited mobility, to access the area.

In response, Paju City plans to install a pedestrian-only bridge in this section, creating a "barrier-free" walking environment that allows wheelchair users, stroller users, and the elderly to move freely.

This kickoff meeting marks the first stage of the Imjingak Peace Gondola Skywalk project. The city comprehensively reviewed measures to improve the pedestrian-centered environment, including structural safety, slope design applying barrier-free standards, rest areas, and guidance systems.

Paju City plans to complete the detailed design service by October 2025 and aims to finish construction by December 2026.

Choi Byunggap, Deputy Mayor of Paju City, stated, "The core goal of creating this pedestrian-only bridge is not only to ensure the safety of tourists but also to provide a walking environment accessible to everyone, including those with limited mobility. We will do our best to reflect these considerations meticulously from the design stage so that the 'Imjingak Peace Gondola Skywalk' can be implemented effectively."
