Cooperation to Address Blind Spots in Mental Health Care

The Sejong Metropolitan Mental Health Welfare Center, operated under the commission of Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital, signed a business agreement with the LH Sejong Residential Welfare Office on June 4 to establish a cooperative system for promoting a culture of respect for life.
According to the hospital on June 5, the agreement focuses on cooperation between the two organizations to improve the mental health of Sejong residents and foster a culture of respect for life. The two organizations plan to strengthen mutual information sharing and the implementation of joint projects.
The two organizations plan to carry out various collaborative projects, including: expanding Safe Villages that promote respect for life; identifying and providing early intervention for high-risk groups for mental health issues; conducting education and promotional activities to improve mental health awareness and spread a culture of respect for life; and supporting campaigns and counseling activities.
Choi Gyeyoung, head of the LH Sejong Residential Welfare Office, stated, "With this agreement, we hope that residents in the blind spots of mental health care will be able to receive more systematic support. We will continue to expand an integrated care system that connects residential welfare and mental health."
A representative from the Sejong Metropolitan Mental Health Welfare Center said, "Mental health is an issue that concerns everyone, and it is especially important to take a careful approach to vulnerable housing groups. With this agreement, we will work to establish a more robust community mental health safety net."
