Customer Data Leak at Cartier Follows Incidents at Dior and Tiffany

Following Dior and Tiffany, another incident has occurred in which customer information from the luxury brand Cartier has been leaked.

According to industry sources on June 3, Cartier sent an email to customers stating, "An unauthorized third party temporarily accessed Cartier's system without permission and obtained some customer information."


The company further explained, "We responded swiftly and took measures to strengthen system and data security," adding, "We have shared this matter with the relevant authorities and are working closely with the industry's top external cybersecurity experts."


The personal information that may have been exposed includes names, email addresses, and countries. Cartier emphasized that passwords, credit card information, and other banking details were not affected in any way.


Cartier stated, "We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this incident may have caused our customers."


Previously, customer data was also leaked in large quantities from Dior and Tiffany, both brands under the LVMH Group. On May 7, Dior notified customers that a third party had accessed customer data on January 26 of this year. The information reportedly included names, mobile phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, honorifics (social titles), purchased products, and preferred products.


Tiffany also announced that unique identifiers that could reveal personal information, customer purchase history, repair requests, and inquiry details had been leaked. Neither Dior nor Tiffany has provided a clear explanation regarding the perpetrators or the methods of the hacking, and the Personal Information Protection Commission is currently investigating the matter.
